Platea, long known as Nou Platea, is a nightclub in Girona's Eixample district, on Carrer de Jeroni Real de Fontclara, about 100 metres from Plaça de la Independència. It opened in 1992 inside the former Teatre Albéniz, which dates from 1922, and has kept the theatre's great curtain and stage, now used as the dance floor. Two floors are open to the public: the main room, which keeps the feel of the old theatre, and a club space devoted to electronic music.
Recent programming centres on techno, tech house and house sessions with resident and guest DJs; in September 2026 it hosted «Platea Goes Hard», running from midnight to 6am for over-18s only. Tickets for its parties have been sold through Resident Advisor and Xceed, and Girona's tourist office includes it in its list of the city's clubs.
