About Cats
Cats is a nightclub in Chamberí, a stone’s throw from Moncloa, and one of the longest-running in Madrid: it opened in 1989. It is surrounded by university halls of residence, so its crowd is mostly students and very young. For years it traded as Mitty, and in 2018 it got its own name back; in 2022 it reopened after a refurbishment that renewed its lighting and sound and its VIP table areas.
It holds about 1,000 people and has three bars. The music is commercial: the hits of the moment, reggaeton and plenty of Spanish party anthems. Here you’ll find its up-to-date agenda and can buy tickets without leaving the site.
It opens Thursday to Saturday and on nights before public holidays: on Thursdays from 23:45 to 05:30, and on Fridays and Saturdays from 00:00 to 06:00. It’s the nightclub for student parties, such as freshers’ parties with an open bar, which some weeks are also held midweek. It has large VIP areas for birthdays and celebrations, and can be hired for private parties and events.
