About Joy Eslava

Joy Eslava, now Teatro Eslava, is one of Madrid’s most historic venues: it’s on Calle del Arenal, next to the San Ginés passage, a stone’s throw from Sol. It opened in 1871 as Salón Eslava, a theatre for zarzuela comedies and cabaret, and in 1981 it became the Joy Eslava nightclub, one of the hubs of the Movida madrileña. In 2022 it reopened after a complete refurbishment by Philippe Starck, as a concert hall, nightclub and events space.

Club nights are Thursday to Saturday from 23:30 to 06:00, with parties such as No Limits: reggaeton, afrobeat and commercial and international hits, and on some nights an open bar for the first hour. The minimum age is usually 21 on Fridays and Saturdays and 18 on some Thursdays, and smart dress is required. Its agenda also includes the nights of Oh My Club, run by the same organisation, on Calle de Rosario Pino. Here you’ll find its up-to-date agenda and can buy tickets without leaving the site.
