Sala Niágara is a small club on Calle San Simón, in Santander's Ensanche district, carrying on from a venue that for years was an underground meeting point for night owls and music lovers. It puts on gigs most weekends (starting around 10pm and finishing by 1am at the latest), after which the room turns into a dance floor: as a club it opens on Fridays and Saturdays from midnight to 6am.
The DJ sessions revolve around African-American music and rock and roll, with resident DJs who are keen vinyl collectors. Its regular nights are TRVZT Club, electronic music with leading Spanish DJs; Nido, monthly parties of experimental music; and Black Sessions, with hip hop, funk, disco and house. It has also hosted nights such as Catarata, with a live electronic act and an afterparty. Tickets are sold on the door or through each event's ticketing site, and the bar has a cocktail list.
