About Opium

Opium is a club on the Passeig Marítim, right on Barceloneta beach next to Port Olímpic. It opened in 2007 and is run by Grupo Costa Este. It is open every day of the year: from 23:30 to 05:00 on weeknights and until 06:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. A staircase leads down to the dance floor, almost at sea level. There is a main room for around 3,000 people (Main Room), a VIP area that opens onto the terrace (Dawn Room), a smaller low-ceilinged room (The Cave) and a terrace by the sand, which works as a Mediterranean restaurant during the day.

The music is hits, house, EDM and some hip hop and R&B, with international DJs on big dates. The dress code is smart: no sportswear or flip-flops. Tickets are sold on its website and on Xceed (advance tickets are cheaper than the door), there is a guest list for free or discounted entry, and seven VIP areas with bottle service. Minimum age is 18.
