Café del Mar is the oldest sunset bar on the Sunset Strip in Sant Antoni de Portmany: it opened in 1980 facing the bay, and its DJ booth gave birth to the chill out and Balearic sound the brand has since taken to its compilations, its radio station and venues abroad. After closing for a refurbishment, it reopened in spring 2025, its 45th anniversary, with a new look, a new sound system and a new food menu. There are two rows of seafront tables, a terrace by the promenade and a VIP lounge with sofas raised above the dancefloor next to the DJ booth, where DJs play all afternoon and into the night.

It opens daily from late afternoon until late at night; the 2026 season ran from 2 April to 24 October, so it is now closed until the spring. There is no entry fee; tables are booked on its website with a minimum spend per person, although bookings are not taken for the exact time of the sunset. There is no formal dress code, but bare chests, bare feet and swimwear are not allowed.
