About Pikes

Pikes is a hotel with a club in the hills on the outskirts of Sant Antoni de Portmany, on Camí de Sa Vorera, about €10–15 by taxi from the centre. It is a farmhouse of around 500 years turned into a hotel in the early 1980s, famous for the parties attended by Freddie Mercury, George Michael and Grace Jones. Its nightclub, Freddies, occupies Freddie Mercury's former suite; it also has Club Tropicana by the pool, Plaza Mayor for cocktails, the restaurant and the Bathtub Club. It opens every day; the regular parties are Pikes House Party on Saturdays and Sundays at Pikes on Sundays. The music is house, disco and eclectic electronic music. Entry is free, but only via the guest list on its website: there are no tickets and no VIP area, and phones are not allowed. The minimum age is 27, and sportswear, flip-flops, swimwear and stag or hen parties are not admitted. It opens from April to 31 October.
