La Tasquita de Enfrente is a small eight-table dining room on Calle de la Ballesta, behind the Gran Vía, which has become a benchmark for produce-led cooking in Madrid, with two Repsol Suns and a Michelin Guide recommendation. It began as the eating house of Serafín López, “Gaona”, called La Tasquita because it stood opposite La Gran Tasca; his son Juanjo López Bedmar left his job running an insurance company at 40 to take it over when his father died, and he has been at the helm for more than 25 years. He is joined by Nacho Trujillo, who started at the bottom in the house and is now the heir to its style: neatness, honesty, roots and the luxury of the very best, with three-ingredient dishes prepared daily. The menu changes every day according to what suppliers announce the night before, drawing on a repertoire of over 300 dishes: eel with pear, carabinero prawn with sobrasada, battered hake cheeks, prawn salpicón, meatballs, tripe or lamprey, and, to order, a very exclusive cocido madrileño. Its steak tartare was named the best in Spain at Madrid Fusión 2025.

A dining room for about 16 guests. Bookings through the website or Instagram, up to 6 people; Thursday to Saturday, only that way. For larger groups, by phone. A card is required to guarantee the table, which is not confirmed until you receive the email.
Opening hours
Tuesday to Saturday, lunch and dinner (1:30 pm to 4:30 pm and 8:30 pm to 11 pm). Sunday and Monday, closed.
